Clam Chowder

A creamy and hearty soup made with clams, potatoes, and a blend of seasonings, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of fresh clams, chopped
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup of onion, chopped
  • 1 cup of celery, chopped
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of thyme
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and celery, sauté until softened.
  3. Add the diced potatoes, chicken broth, thyme, and bay leaf. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
  5. Stir in the chopped clams and heavy cream. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove bay leaf before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker chowder, mash some of the potatoes before adding the clams.
  • Feel free to add bacon for extra flavor.
  • Serve with crusty bread for a complete meal.
