Taco Bake Casserole

A quick and easy taco bake casserole with layers of seasoned meat, cheese, and tortillas.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/2 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Layer half the tortillas in a baking dish.
  5. Spread half the meat mixture over the tortillas.
  6. Sprinkle half the cheese on top.
  7. Repeat layers with remaining tortillas, meat, and cheese.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Top with sour cream, salsa, lettuce, and tomatoes before serving.

Notes

  • Use corn tortillas for a gluten-free option.
  • Add black beans or corn for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
