Instructions

  1. Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Season both sides of the steaks generously with salt and black pepper.
  4. In an oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. Add the filet mignon to the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
