  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water and milk to a gentle boil.
  2. Stir in oats and reduce heat to medium-low.
  3. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, vanilla, and cinnamon (if using).
  5. Cook for 2 more minutes until creamy.
  6. Remove from heat and let stand for 1 minute.
  7. Serve warm with additional toppings if desired.

Notes

  • For thicker oatmeal, use less liquid.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
