Maple bacon donuts are a delicious combination of sweet and savory flavors, perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped bacon.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the donuts cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  9. In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup and powdered sugar to create a glaze.
  10. Dunk the cooled donuts in the glaze and top with additional bacon if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use maple-flavored bacon.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • These donuts can be frozen for up to a month; thaw before glazing.
