Meatloaf with Mushroom Gravy

A hearty meatloaf covered in rich mushroom gravy, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
  3. Shape into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
  4. Bake for 1 hour.
  5. While baking, melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
  6. Add mushrooms and cook until soft.
  7. Stir in flour, then slowly add beef broth while whisking.
  8. Simmer until the gravy thickens.
  9. Pour gravy over the cooked meatloaf before serving.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for a less greasy meatloaf.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
