Slow Cooker French Onion Pork Chops

Tender pork chops cooked in a rich French onion sauce using a slow cooker for maximum flavor.

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed French onion soup
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown pork chops for 2-3 minutes per side.
  2. Place sliced onions in the slow cooker. Arrange pork chops on top.
  3. In a bowl, mix French onion soup, beef broth, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and pepper. Pour over pork chops.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or until pork is tender.
  5. If using cheese, sprinkle over pork chops in the last 15 minutes of cooking.
  6. Serve warm with mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

  • Use bone-in chops for better flavor and tenderness.
  • Can substitute Swiss cheese with mozzarella or provolone.
  • Add mushrooms if desired.
