  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a jelly roll pan.
  2. In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  5. While the cake is baking, prepare the vanilla cream by whipping the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  6. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before rolling it up with a clean kitchen towel.
  7. After cooling completely, unroll the cake and spread the vanilla cream evenly over the surface.
  8. Roll the cake back up and place it seam side down on a serving platter.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar and decorate as desired.
